BLOATED CORPSE OF A DRUNK — "Welcome to my shrine," says the strange limp figure dangling above you.

SHIVERS [Medium: Success] — A chill ricochets down your spine, a familiar feeling. A sense of profound kinship and connection.

  1. - "What is this 'Disco Elysium'?"
  2. - "Why should I play Disco Elysium?"
  3. - "Why do you love this game so much?"
  4. - "What's your history with the game?"
  5. - "Nevermind." [Leave.]

ENCYCLOPEDIA [Trivial: Success]Disco Elysium (2019) is a role-playing game developed by ZA/UM. The Final Cut version, which featured full voice acting and additional content, was released in 2021. You play as an amnesiac detective who drank himself into oblivion instead of solving the murder of a man hanging in the courtyard of the hostel he's staying at. You are tasked with retracing your steps and conducting an investigation into the murder with your new partner, Kim Kitsuragi.

CONCEPTUALIZATION [Easy: Success] — With a stunning oil painterly art style, Disco Elysium is one of the most gorgeous games out there, lovingly rendering even the most mundane uglinesses. This is in addition to some of the best written dialogue and prose in gaming.

SUGGESTION [Medium: Success] — If you don't mind a gaming experience that is more akin to reading a novel than playing a game, Disco Elysium is the game for you that will radically transform how you approach narrative games. Feast upon, as previously mentioned, some of the best writing that gaming has to offer. Drown yourself in the sheer depth of this intricately crafted game. Not only is it incredibly intelligent, it's also genuinely hilarious and masterfully manages its tone.

VOLITION [Medium: Success] — This game may very well change your life.

EMPATHY [Trivial: Success] — This game, which is my second favorite game of all time, means a great deal to me. There is no piece of media that inspires me more in terms of visual art and creative writing. I can only hope to aspire to write even a fraction as good as the prose in this game.

COMPOSURE [Heroic: Success] — It's hard to explain my love for this game with someone who hasn't played it for I desire them to experience most of it for themself without too much of my interference.

AUTHORITY [Godly: Success] — Therefore, this is my final demand: play this game. Spoilers will now follow, or at least I will be writing under the assumption that you've played the game.

INLAND EMPIRE [Easy: Success] — I have never felt so connected with a game. There are so many moments that will live on inside me forever such as the majority of what Shivers says in any given moment to my beloved scene towards the end of the game with the phasmid. Most of all, I adore this game for its messages. The one that rests most in my feelings is the idea of experiencing life and the world through fresh eyes. For second chances to start anew. Something available as an option to us all so long as we live.

SHIVERS [Trivial: Success] — I feel that Revachol itself will live on forever within me. Even in some awful turn of fate where I am unable to play the game again for years.

ENCYCLOPEDIA [Formidable: Success] — I originally played this game in December of 2022 and have since developed a tradition where I will play the game the week of Christmas and try my best to finish on Christmas day. This has become my most cherished tradition.
